So over the past few months the blog has been extremely quiet. Much quieter than I had hoped. This is mainly due to me working on a massive application using CakePHP. It’s taken 7 months to get to where I am with it and there is still work to do, but it has just been released to users for the first round of testing! I’ve learnt a massive amount of the last few months, developing on a Windows environment for a start, using MSSQL and multiple datasources, a shit ton of JavaScript and some pretty hardcore development. It’s been fun!

Having reached this milestone I wanted to show the application “coming to life”. I’ve put together a YouTube video which visualises the work using Gource and Git. It basically reads my Git log and makes look all pretty! You can see times in the video where I was stuck on a particular section and massive activity when I was moving onto something new. Hopefully this gives you a idea of what I have been upto, as you can see I’ve been a bit busy! As I get more time I will start adding some posts on what I have learnt and some tips and tricks I have picked up along the way!

Who the Hell am I?

I'm Will, a full time web developer, geek and musician. I develop using PHP and MySQL and spend most of my time working with WordPress or CakePHP. When I'm not buried in code I'm gaming, cooking or writing and recording music in my studio. I like sci-fi, pancakes and coffee and am totally prepared for the zombie apocalypse...

Stalk me on these other sites...

Why not be super creepy and check me out on all these other sites, I think they call it social media?
